Why do we have weekly business plan review or weekly meeting

Why Business reviews are important

This is a basic question, once a while everybody asks or shares with colleagues. Why the CEO or Higher management do Weekly reviews? Does that make any impact? Here I would like to share a simple story of FORD.

In 2006, when Alan Mullaly , joined FORD as a CEO, the company was not making good business, ford was facing lot of trouble. He took first move to have a regular weekly review meeting with team. The executives or managers need to present tasks/initiatives with status defining Not Done/Work-in-progress/Completed showing color as Red/Yellow/Green.

In every meetings, every person showing slides are marked Green or someday orange. They are very used to see good things and appreciations.

This continued until he threw up his hands in frustration wondering aloud that however, everything is marked green every week but i am not getting any insight out of it and – “We are going to lose billions of dollars this year. Is there anything that’s not going well here?”

Finally, after weeks of getting deeper and breaking tasks in subtasks, one executive – Mark Fields, the Head of Operations – turned one slide red. This was a decision that would have lost his job under previous leadership.

When Mullaly saw the slide, he clapped, thanked him for the visibility, and asked everyone in the room if someone could help bring the initiative back on track. A valuable discussion followed (for a change).

Over time, other executives followed Marks’ lead and brought more colorful slides to these review. More valuable discussions followed. These discussions contributed to Ford’s turnaround in the subsequent years.

To change outcomes, we need to change behavior. And, to change behavior, we need to change the culture.

The 6 Best Essential Oils for Your Skin!

The 6 best essential oils for your skin!

When it comes to skincare, we believe nature is your best friend. You of course have heard of essential oils. They are derived from natural sources and combined through Ayurvedic processes to provide you with the best organic skincare :

Lavender Essential Oil

Derived from lavender oil, it works wonders for your skin and is the most common essential oil used for skin problems. It kills bacteria and hence prevents impurities from building up. It further prevents acne, blackheads and blemishes. Lavender essential oil also helps with dry, itchy and scaly skin. This natural oil also helps with skin lightening and brightening. Including lavender essential oil in your daily skin care routine can give you a healthy and naturally glowing skin. The soothing fragrance of lavender is also used in aromatherapy.

Tea Tree Organic Oil

Tea tree oil comes next in the list of the best essential oil for your skin. It cannot be used in the purest form and hence has to be mixed with either olive oil or coconut oil. It is used to treat oily skin due to its antiseptic properties. Tea tree oil also soothes itchy and flaky skin due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Furthermore, it helps in treating acne and when used regularly removes the acne marks and scars, giving you a clear skin. Tea tree oil is also beneficial in healing of wounds.

Ylang Essential Oil

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil is  pronounced as “Ee-lang Ee-lang,”. It receives its common name from the repetition of the Tagalog word “ilang,” which means “wilderness,”-its natural habitat. The wilderness to which it is native includes the tropical rainforests of the Philippines, Indonesia, Java, Sumatra, Comoro, and Polynesia.Ylang ylang oil is used to balance the skin and get rid of blemishes and discolouration. It also stimulates the growth of new cells, tightening the skin around eyes to get rid of wrinkles and fine lines. It reduces the signs of aging, soothes itchy skin and generally takes care of your skin and also present in body lotions made especially for toning the skin and protecting against harmful elements.

Lemongrass Oil

Lemongrass oil is another essential oil that can be included in your daily routine to attain flawless skin. It has toning and purifying properties and also relieves redness, itching, and swelling. It has antiseptic and astringent properties due to which it makes an excellent addition to cosmetics that are meant to help achieve glowing and evenly toned skin. When used as a toner, it cleanses pores and strengthens the skin tissues. Blending Lemongrass Oil into body washes helps achieve itch- free skin and healthy skin.

Frankincense Oil

Frankincense oil has an aroma that can be best described as woody or earthy. It demonstrates astringent and cytophylactic qualities, which are known to reduce wrinkles and repair discolouration. Frankincense oil also promotes the growth of new cells and tightens skin pores and hence slows down the aging process. It is the best remedy for oily skin since it reduces the production of sebum. Doing this, it prevents clogged pores and hence prevents acne.

Rosemary Oil

It is most commonly known as a natural face astringent. Applying it before moisturiser on a sunny day will prevent excessive oil production. Rosemary oil is the best for treating acne due to its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. It naturally restores skin elasticity making you feel young as ever.

For healthy and glowing skin, which is free of acne and blemishes, you can experiment with different essential oils and find out which works best for you! There are a variety of them available but do your research and then choose the one you think will suit your skin!

4 Things To Do Before Starting a Business

4 Things To Do Before Starting a Business

If you are starting a business or in planning to quit your 9-5 job. Here, I am trying to provide you some key information to plan your future full time business. I am not trying to provide a guide to start a business but below key points will definitely leads you towards your goal :

#1 Learn

Learn more than you think you need to. Once you in business you will feel lack of knowledge every time you deal with your clients and with your internal team. You need to learn each and every aspect related to your business. Focus on your skills and do best available certifications around your knowledge. “The more you learn, the more you earn”

#2 Practice makes perfect

Before jumping into the real world of business, strengthen your mind with NEVER GIVE UP attitude. “Your plan B is the killer and strong mindset is the real survivor”

More you practice and never give up due to small losses, it will lead you to better knowledge of your target audience and better way to serve your client. “Practice your skills to make your product better and life easier”

#3 Friendship with 2-3 competitors

Know your competitor like your best friend. You need to know all the strengths and weaknesses of your competitors. Write down each and every points which your competitors are doing extraordinarily well and implement them into your action plan.

Don’t miss the weakness of your competitors and fill the gaps for your your customers.

#4 Imagine your journey

Imagine your self as a business person daily on every task and during every situation you face. Imagination will lead you and motivate you to keep learning and planning.

Break each point and task into sub-tasks than break each sub-task into minor task. Don’t miss any point. It will not happen in one day or week. It will only happen when you see/imagine business every where you can. Don’t underestimate the power of PEN and PAPER.

You don’t necessarily need a college degree, a bunch of money in the bank or even business experience to start something that could become the next major success. However, you do need a strong plan and the drive to see it through.

Are you ready to Hustle for 80 hours a week by quitting 48 hours?

Recover Girl Podcast – What’s Your Make Up?

We are all in recovery something. Whether that be substance use, an eating disorder, unhealthy relationships, a tragedy, or a trauma. Whatever your recovery looks like, the Recover Girl Podcast is a space to embrace your story, be who you are, and THRIVE in recovery!

Well Said by Victoria Ray.

I have personally been through her work and found great broadcasts. I must admit : she is doing excellent work for the mankind by her self experienced stories.

Folks! relax and listen top 3 podcasts created by recover girl podcast:

#1 The Best Advice I Ever Got

There was a time in my life that I lived in a closet. And no, not the closet that’s being talked about during Pride month. I mean a literal closet. I wish I had a good excuse like I was trapped in there or that I’m actually a wizard whose aunt and uncle are jerks- but I don’t. The truth is that I was fifteen years old, incredibly depressed, being bullied at school (which I inevitably stopped going to), and found it easier to isolate myself, binge-eating and playing Pokémon platinum version in a small dark space than face the world that I felt had turned its back on me. .

#2 Made for Love

Being at the beach always makes me want to fall in love. It’s been that way since I was eleven years old when I would sneak out onto the condo balcony late at night and write love songs to a guy that I’d never met. There I would look up at the stars and pray that I would meet my summer romance, and that this year would be ..

#3 Suffering, The Love Story

I want to tell you a love story. A real love story. Right now I should be inside finishing my statistics homework, but after one of the craziest weeks of my life- 2 cancer diagnoses in my family, one of whom was my 7 month old cousin, starting a podcast, sitting in a classroom for the first time in 4 years, inner turmoil ..

Listen Podcast and share your feedback. So, JOURNALOGI Team will keep sharing such wonderful content with you. Because somebody said :
Love is worth the risk 🙂

How To Be A Morning Person

Sun Rising

We want to see the rising Sun in the morning. We want to breath the fresh air in the morning. We want to start our day early for healthy routine and plan our day in better way. We want to be a morning person, we think daily that from tomorrow I will start going to morning walk and get up at 5 AM , 5:30 AM or so on.

After few attempts and failures, people started thinking that – I can’t wake early, I love my sleep more. The most important part is – IT HURT OUR WILL POWER, WHEN WE CAN’T WAKE UP.

DON’T WORRY, it is not that bad, check out the list which will surely help you to wake up early with little bit of planning :

1. DON’T EAT LATE

It all start with late night food. We need to maintain food habit. Eat less and before time. At least try to have food 2 hours before you need to sleep.

2. DON’T SET ALARM TO WAKE UP

Instead of morning alarm, set alarm to sleep on time. For Example, if you want to wake up at 5 AM than you need to sleep at 10-11 PM. So, put alarm in your phones to Go-to bed on time and don’t forget to put your phone fridge (away from you).

3. PLAN YOUR MORNING ROUTINE

Planning plays a vital role and motivation to wake up. If you have basic to-do list of morning routine For Example : 1. I wake up at 5 AM, Drink 4 glass of water, Go for walk at 5:30, Take bath at 7: 00, Have breakfast at 7:30, Turn on my phone at 8:00 AM, Start working or so on.

4. TURN OFF YOUR PHONE

I recommend to first call your loved once (family/friends) and put your away from your self. If you are a person who is eager to see phone on every second or on every small notification tune on phone or even a little blink on phone than YOU MUST TURN YOUR PHONE OFF.

Don’t worry about friends and family, soon they will start realizing your schedule and they do not disturb you.

5. DRINK MILK BEFORE SLEEP

Have a glass of warm-milk. If you don’t like milk than have tea but whatever you have should not contain Caffeine.

6. GET ENOUGH SLEEP

This is the key. We need to have enough sleep to wake up.

7. RELAX AND TAKE YOUR TIME

Once you go to bed, relax and give your self time. Focus on breath for some time and do not hold your thoughts, let them flow for a while, again focus on breath consciously and SLEEP LIKE A KID.

P.S. – IF YOUR MUMMY IS WITH YOU, TELL HER TO WAKE YOU UP 🙂

Fading Into The Future

FADING INTO THE FUTURE

The very glimpse of the sun rising all the little munchkins to learn something new.

The tender fingers fidgeting with shoelaces. The engaged hands gently feeding the tiny mouth. Setting dreams for their unseen future, the mother kissed her munchkin to see her off to school. Little did she know about the brutal pedophile out there. The advanced and sophisticated world of technologies could never find a solution to such ferocious brute. The empty promises of the government can’t be executed unless the crowd raises their voices.

Where humanity died and brutes won shedding the tears of those parents, it all lies in the hands of the creator to protect the little angels who are tomorrow’s future.

I liked this blog of my friend – MUNAZA FATHIMA ; posted on her website.
